In Canada, Tim Hortons isn't just the country's biggest and most prolific coffee and donut shop, it's a part of Canada's identity. Seriously. With over 4000 stores and a Tims just around the corner from wherever you are, the cultural impact it has had on Canadians for the last 60 years is unprecedented. Tims has become so emblematic of Canada that it only felt natural that, during the Barbie movie craze of 2023, it was credited with the accumulation of Kenergy in Canada, after fans recognized it as the birthplace of so many of the chiseled Canadian Kens seen in the movie. To properly celebrate the Kenergy that began in Canada and was now sweeping the world, we had to be nimble. So, in the 48 hours between Ryan Gosling's comment and the Barbie premiere, we took Tims coffee -- the embodiment of the Canadian experience -- and turned it into the embodiment of the KENadian experience. For a brief moment, Tim Hortons became Ken Hortons as we honoured every Canadian named Ken, or Kendra, or Kenny, or Kendall, and more with a free Tims Coffee.
