Mosquito vs Mosquito
Brazil is the country with the highest number of recorded dengue cases in the world, according to the World Health Organization. And since, surprisingly, 80% of breeding sites of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes are in the backyards, gardens and sheds of homes, QuintoAndar joined Oxitec - global leader in biotechnology - to fight dengue where it starts: in people’s homes. Using genetically modified mosquitoes to eliminate their own species, we turned our thousands of homes into fighting grounds against Aedes Aegypti, creating the biggest dengue prevention network in the country.
“The fight against the dengue mosquito needs all the support possible, and everything we can do to contribute to this cause still won’t be enough. We are going to lead the “Houses against Aedes” movement, because it’s in our DNA: to join the fight against dengue fever without harming the environment. We also want to raise awareness about a problem that affects our population so much, especially during the heavy rainy season like summer this year” Flavia Mussalem, QuintoAndar’s Marketing Director
“The idea is to position the company as an agent that provides positive social transformations, generating real benefits for the common citizen through the use of technology and its property portfolio. People will be able to sign up online for free to receive the box and help fight dengue in their region. In other words, we turned a brand activation into a relevant service” Murilo Melo, Global Head of Design GUT SP
